My favourite highlighters.

Hi, Lal here!

Highlighters are literally my favourite products to apply and swatch. I can't imagine my makeup without highlighting, it is an obsession for me. I mean who doesn't like a good highlighter? By good I mean natural and not chunky. I found that some very hyped up highlighters are 'blinding' but makes you look like a disco ball. Well, I don't want that! So here are my favourite highlighters:

ps: I ordered the Kylighters but will do a review when it arrives :)

1. BECCA- Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in OPAL

This is a beautiful highlighter which is not exactly 'blinding' but gives you a natural glow. It has a golden undertone but gives you a subtle finish. It is especially good to enhance your cheekbones and cupids bow. I like to apply it with a fan brush but a stippling brush works as well. I have a medium to light skin tone with yellow undertones, but this highlighter still works great. I would recommend it more for paler skin tones but it is a very flexible highlighter and it is my GO-TO.

I also like 'Champagne Pop' from the collaboration with Jaclyn Hill.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills - That Glow Kit

I like this kit especially because of the colour selection. I used this a lot in summer as I had a tan and the colour 'Golden Bronze' worked amazing on my bronze skin. However, I use 'Bubbly' and 'Dripping in Gold' all the time, including times where I am very pale, and they give a very beautiful finish. It is also buildable and is easy to get your desired glow. THAT GLOW THOUGH.

3. The Iconic London- Illuminator in Original

I am usually not really into liquid highlighters but heard so much about it and decided to give it a try. And OMG it is stunning.

I have combination skin with a very oily T-zone, and usually liquid highlighters make me look cakey. But not this one. This probably deserves to be higher on the list, but the only problem I have is the dropper. It does not pick up enough product and it is hard to squeeze. Other than that, it is the perfect highlighter. I would say that the colour could look a little dark on pale skin but that does not bug me. But they did introduce lighter shades for lighter skin tones. So check it out, you won't be disappointed. My GO-TO for a dewy/wet look.

4. The Balm- Mary-Lou-Manizer

Mary-Lou Manizer is very similar to Becca-Opal. I would say that I like the Becca better as it more pigmented, but Mary-Lou-Manizer is a cheaper option. It sits beautifully on the skin, and is a pretty pale golden shade. Gives a natural glow.

5. Benefit- Watt's Up

Benefit is one of my favourite brands. Their Porefessional is my HOLY GRAIL. This highlighter is especially good for pale skin as it could look too pink on yellow/olive skin tones. It is very easy to apply as it comes with an applicator on the other side. It is great for someone who likes 'on the go' makeup or likes to carry makeup in their handbags. It gives a very natural glow but is definitely buildable. It could look great without a base (foundation/concealer) as well as with a full on glam. Especially good to highlight the bridge of the nose, and could be blended with a beauty blender for a more subtle finish.
